Happy New year! ( is it too late to saying? well, I don`t care :b)
I went to Sensoji Asakusa for Hatsumode Jan 1st, there was so crowded people who wants to visit the temple.
I`ve never seen these large crowd on the Asakusa street before.
Anyway, I hope 2011 is really x3 great and fantastic to all of youguys.
According to Wikipedia,
Hatsumōde (初詣 hatsumōde?) is the first shrine visit of the New Year in Japan. Some people visit a Buddhist temple instead. Many visit on the first, second, or third day of the year as most are off work on those days. Generally, wishes for the new year are made, new o-mamori (charms or amulets) are bought, and the old ones are returned to the shrine so they can be burned. There are often long lines at major shrines throughout Japan.
